We should be demanding them (the owners of the show) to stop focus on drama because is not only bad for queens as individual persons (look what happened with phiphi, brita, etc THEY CAN'T WORK IN PEACE) it's also bad for the community. Personally, i think supporting the queens is not enough we shouldn't watch those parts of the show and focus on profesional skills only. And some people are trying to justify it by saying is "it's a reality show". Seriously, who care if she receives so much hate to the point she can't work anymore? They push queens to get over stressed and create drama between them because that's what they are selling to us. Producers never NEVER took any kind of responsibility on queen's mental health (besides, negative image impact on instagram>jobs>money) but then, they hang a stupid picture on instagram blaming the fans, 'expecting' that it will fix all the damage they caused. They don't give a f* because all that's matter for them are profits/money/numbers while queens are getting attached by haters. It doesn't matter if she's shady or not because, the point is, she's just ONE person being exposed on national and international TV show. There have been many queens in the show that created a "character" in front of the camera or said shady things in the past and yet, they weren't exposed that way. Knowing the fandom is so aggressive and make that type edition on her is mean. What they did with Utica last week was so irresponsible. Really loving her more and more each week. Im sure like everyone, sometimes her intentions don’t come across like intended, but I get the impression she’s never malicious or intending to start a fight or legit argue with someone. Utica seems like a wonderfully complex, creative, kindhearted, and sweet person. I hate when people act like a contestant is “different when the cameras are on.” Bc that goes for everyone-no girl there is 100% the same on and off camera, there is an entirely different pressure/motivation/level of less safety knowing your every move is being recorded and you’re going to act differently. Then you add producers encouraging convos, cameras and a need to ham things up for them, etc and it just complicates things. Utica reminds me of myself and lots of people who fall anywhere on the ASD spectrum (which also has TONS of variation in how people present), has some difficulty reading and perceiving social situations which sometimes can rub people wrong when that’s not the intention. But the reality is that we all are a beautifully complex combination of both. human? I think this fandom gets caught up in wanting to have these black/white portrayals that a girl is either nice or mean, with no alternative. What are yall's thoughts? Also, does anybody know what type of jokes she was making or have any more context? I also know she's fully grown and it's not anybody's responsibility to do this for her, but just seems like the nice thing to do!Įven better I hope Utica voices this and admits/takes accountability for sometimes not fully thinking things through/having social awareness, and then she could even ask the girls herself to tell her when she's done too much or offended, that would wrap this up well. Utica clearly struggles with reading social situations sometimes, so I think a good sister would find a way to respectfully tell her she's crossed a line (preferably just after it has happened) so that way she can get a better sense of what passes and does not pass. I know being awkward doesn't give you permission to be rude, but I think she just needs more input/feedback in the moment sometimes, I just really hope she isn't made to feel like more of an outsider because I wanna see mama shine and dazzle. could they not have stopped her during the dinner? Or maybe they thought it would have been fun initially but her jokes just weren't landing/ in good humor, but still. I'm obviously biased, but based on her confession I very much do get the vibe of a person poking the limits of their identity to see what they can get away with/become. When I say I live for this queen, I L I V E for her, ever since she walked through the doors, her kindness and gentleness (at least on camera/in the edits) have made my heart just flutter, but now she's not seeming so congenial and I'm dying for more context. did tall Miss Thing really read out her throwaways from the reading challenge at family dinner? And expect that to just go over fine? I do think she should have known better but also don't think she would have actually done such a thing from a place of malice. Okay so after watching untucked I'm just sooo confused.
